KENNEL HEATER FAQ

As well as kennel heaters, what other ways can you keep dog kennels warm?

Moving the doghouse to a sheltered area can be very effective. If one section of your garden is protected from the wind by a shed or wall for example, then putting the kennel there could be a great way of protecting it from cold winds. Dog beds and blankets can also be used to stop your pets from getting too cold, but you'll find that heating systems like a high-quality heat lamp or electric heater are the most effective way to keep the dog pen or kennel cozy for your pooch.

How will you know if your dog is too cold?

Dogs always wear their heart on the sleeve compared to other pets like cats, and as such it's easy to tell if your dog is too cold. Obvious things like shivering or whining are giveaways, but a hovering paw and a hunched posture can also be signs they need warming up. You can also try turning on a heater in your own home; if they run towards it, then they likely are looking for more warmth.

If you need any further help or advice on your kennel heaters or dog kennel purchase, or even how to approach building your own dog run or kennel, then please don’t hesitate to get in touch with Kennelstore on 01270 212193.
